Accomplishments and Qualifications
Present: Julia has been a top producer for the Cape Elizabeth office for the past four years since she transferred, and a Broker since 2008. In 2023, she became affiliated with Advisors Living Real Estate after 17 years at Coldwell Banker. Advisors Living Real Estate is the residential subsidiary of the commercial brokerage Boston Realty Advisors, which has been supporting top producing Brokers since 2000, and is the fastest growing brokerage in New England. Julia is a National Association of REALTORS® recognized Green Broker, is certified in Luxury, Resort, Waterfront, Second Home. Investment, Smart Home and Commercial property, and is an accredited Buyer Broker. She recently represented her smart, kind, and talented daughter and her partner in their first home purchase, her most rewarding of hundreds of happy endings.
She also founded Agents for the Built Environment (ABE) to consult and advocate for energy efficiency and renewable energy causes independent of her affiliated organizations and to produce Continuing Education Units (CEU) courses for agents including High Performance Buildings, Sustainability Matters, and REALTOR® Green Day. As of 2023, she has co-produced 18 hours of CEUs for agents under ABE, and co-produced another eight CEUs with other organizations, all with Sustainability Advisory Group members. She is a Director of the Maine Association of REALTORS® board and the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS® chapter board, and Co-Chair of the Sustainability Advisory Group of the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS®.
Past: Prior careers include 20 years as President of InfoTech, Inc., an international market research firm that built primary, large-scale, long-range economic forecasts for the worldwide information, music, movie, and video game title and technology markets from 1984 to 2005. Soon after graduating with a BA In Fine Arts and completing coursework in the Technology Management MBA program at the Illinois Institute of Technology, she became a Technology Analyst at IIT Research Institute where she developed primary and secondary market forecasts for solar PV, geothermal heat pumps, windmills, adiabatic engines and laser videodiscs, and was recruited to join the first for-profit subsidiary of IIT Research Institute, all aimed at commercializing government-sponsored technology. Julia worked in over 15 countries as a consultant and publisher of market data, and on the high-tech keynote speaker circuit.
Civic, Fun: In her community, Julia served for years as Secretary on the Thomas Memorial Library Board of Trustees and on the Thomas Memorial Library Foundation. She also served as Chair of the Alternative Energy Committee in Cape Elizabeth. She served for years as Volunteer Coordinator for the USM Youth Wind Ensemble and Youth Symphony Orchestra and for many other groups in the Cape Elizabeth schools. Currently, she lives in a micro-grid on a small, organic farm. Formerly, she sang with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, led jazz combos as a vocalist, raced sports cars, flew small airplanes, surfed long boards, sailed boats and led guided tours.
